Eyelid Surgery Newcastle
Mr Jong Kim has built up an excellent reputation throughout Newcastle and the surrounding areas for his wide range of treatments, including some of the most advanced cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures. His expertise includes a broad spectrum of surgeries, including oculoplastic eyelid procedures.
There are many reasons why you may choose to opt for eyelid surgeries. When you start to get older, the skin around your eyes can be the first parts of your body to show the visible signs of ageing. Getting older can take its toll on your appearance and as the skin surrounding your eye becomes loose and wrinkled, it can start to sag, making the eyes look fatigued. Rather than having years added to your face, make sure to get in touch with Mr Kim on 07933239554, who will be happy to guide you through the surgical process.
Benefits of Eyelid Surgery, both Upper & Lower include:
- Increased overall self-confidence and self-esteem
- Correct premature ageing
- Improved appearance / look younger
- Improved vision in some cases
- Easier application of make-up
- Take away that ‘tired look’
What Does the Procedure Entail?
There are 2 types of eyelid surgery that Mr Kim offers, these are an upper eyelid procedure or a lower eyelid procedure. These procedures can be done in the same session, if required.
Surgery on the upper eyelid first involves making an incision (cut) along the eyelid crease in the natural skin fold of the eyelid. Excess fat, skin or muscle is then removed, and the incision is closed up. The scar will be hidden in the natural fold of the eyelid.
Surgery on the lower eyelid follows a similar procedure to of that on the upper eyelid. An incision is made either just below the lower lashes, or on the inside of the eyelid. There is then moving or removing of fat from the bags under the eyes, and sometimes a small amount of skin. We then support the muscles and tendon of the eyelid, if necessary.
Blepharoplasty (more commonly known as eye bag removal surgery) is a relatively quick and simple procedure that usually takes between 1-3 hours to complete and is often carried out as a day case procedure.
