Eyelid Surgery Middlesbrough

Dr. Kim has been carrying out successful eyelid surgeries to patients in Middlesbrough for many years and boasts a vast amount of experience in the cosmetic surgery field, having gained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England FRCS (Plast) in 2012. Dr. Kim has built up a professional reputation in the plastic surgery field and his broad portfolio of treatments includes oculoplastic eyelid procedures.

Benefits Include:

  • Increased overall self-confidence and self-esteem.
  • Correct premature ageing.
  • Improved appearance / look younger.
  • Improved vision in some cases.
  • Easier application of make-up.
  • Take away that ‘tired look’.

Eyelid surgery can be performed on the upper eyelid or the lower eyelid, and if necessary both of these procedures can be undertaken during the same session.

Upper Eyelid

To begin the surgery on the upper eyelid, Dr. Kim will first make an incision (cut) along the eyelid crease in the natural skin fold of the eyelid. Excess fat, skin or muscle is then removed, and the incision is closed up. The scar will be hidden in the natural fold of the eyelid.

Lower Eyelid

Surgery on the lower eyelid follows a similar procedure to of that on the upper eyelid. An incision is made either just below the lower lashes, or on the inside of the eyelid. There is then moving or removing of fat from the bags under the eyes, and sometimes a small amount of skin. We then support the muscles and tendon of the eyelid, if necessary.

For some patients, upper eyelid surgery only requires the use of a local anaesthetic meaning the recovery time should be quicker than if a general anaesthetic is used. However, if you opt for lower eyelid surgery, or a combination of upper and lower eyelid surgery, this will almost always be performed under general anaesthetic.

Dr. Kim has a great amount of experience performing eyelid surgeries to patients in Middlesbrough and the surrounding areas.
